Absolute Majority

Absolute majority is a voting requirement where a candidate or measure needs more than half of all votes cast, or more than half of all members entitled to vote, to be successful. This threshold ensures a clear mandate, preventing decisions by a minority. It differs from a simple majority, which only requires more votes for one option than for any other.
