Benfords Law

Benford's Law, also known as the first-digit law, describes the counter-intuitive phenomenon that in many naturally occurring sets of numbers, the digit 1 appears as the leading digit far more often than other digits. This probability distribution predicts a logarithmic decay in frequency for higher leading digits. It finds applications in detecting fraud and verifying data integrity.
