Big Dipper

+The Big Dipper is a well-known [asterism](/wiki/asterism) formed by seven bright stars, easily visible in the northern [night sky](/wiki/night_sky). Its distinctive bowl and handle shape makes it a guide, with two "pointer stars" leading directly to [Polaris](/wiki/polaris), the North Star.
