Chordates are a phylum of Animals defined by a shared body plan, which at some developmental stage includes a Notochord, dorsal hollow nerve cord, pharyngeal slits, and a post-anal tail. This incredibly diverse group encompasses all Vertebrates, from fish to humans, as well as simpler marine creatures.
