+Color channels are the independent grayscale images that represent a primary color component within a digital color image. For instance, an [RGB](/wiki/rgb) image uses separate [Red](/wiki/red), [Green](/wiki/green), and [Blue](/wiki/blue) channels, which combine to form the full spectrum of visible color.
