Its intended gameplay was envisioned as a Social Simulation, drawing comparisons to games like Socialmeeps or Club Penguin. Its development halted due to the creator's ban from the websim platform. Upon its cancellation, the associated Discord server was nuked by the owner, with all channels removed except for a goodbye channel. This led to the loss of many development screenshots and news, effectively rendering much information about the game Lost Media.
Despite initial speculation about a return as 'Cubestown Reimagined', it has been recently confirmed in a new Discord message that 'Cubestown Reimagined' is also cancelled, leaving Cubestown forever discontinued. The image above depicts a sneak peek for the reimagined project, showing a stylized red face with distinctive features.
