+Dacia was an ancient land in Central and Eastern Europe, largely corresponding to modern [Romania](/wiki/romania). It was home to the [Dacians](/wiki/dacians), a Thracian people, until its conquest and assimilation into the [Roman Empire](/wiki/roman_empire) in the 2nd century AD.
