In various philosophical and religious systems, a Demiurge is a divine craftsman or entity responsible for fashioning the material Cosmos. Often seen as distinct from the true, ultimate Creator, it may be imperfect or even malevolent, as in Gnosticism, giving form to an inherently flawed world.
