+**Depth Of Field** (DoF) is the range of distances in an image where subjects appear acceptably sharp. Controlled primarily by [Aperture](/wiki/aperture) and [Focus](/wiki/focus), it dictates how much of a scene, from foreground to background, is crisp or beautifully blurred.
