Falsification

Falsification is a principle asserting that a scientific theory or hypothesis must be capable of being proven false by empirical testing. Championed by Karl Popper, this concept holds that no amount of confirming evidence can ultimately prove a theory true, but a single contradictory observation can demonstrate its falsehood, thus defining the boundary of scientific inquiry.
