Giant Star

A Giant Star is a star significantly larger and more luminous than a Main-sequence star of the same surface temperature. These stars have exhausted the hydrogen in their core, causing their outer layers to expand dramatically, positioning them in the upper right region of the H-R diagram. They represent a late stage in the stellar evolution of low to intermediate-mass stars.
