+A **gully** is a landform channel created by the erosive action of flowing water, typically deeper than a [Rill](/wiki/rill) but smaller than a [Valley](/wiki/valley). These often form on hillsides or in soft soils, growing with continued [Erosion](/wiki/erosion) during heavy rains, and can significantly alter local topography.
