Indulgence

+Indulgence, in a spiritual context, refers to the remission before God of temporal punishment due to [Sin](/wiki/sin), already forgiven as far as its guilt is concerned. Historically, these acts were often connected to works of [Penance](/wiki/penance) or charity, intended to lessen time in [Purgatory](/wiki/purgatory).
