Invisible Hand

The Invisible Hand is a metaphor introduced by Adam Smith describing the unintended social benefits of individual self-interested actions. It suggests that individuals, pursuing their own gain, are guided by an unseen force to promote the public good, often more effectively than if they had consciously intended to do so within a Free Market system.
