Ladonia is a micronation declared in 1996 in a small, inaccessible nature reserve on the Kullaberg peninsula of southern Sweden. It exists as an artistic project, home to two large sculptures built from driftwood and concrete. Its founder, Lars Vilks, created Ladonia as a response to local authorities' attempts to remove his controversial art.
