Rift Valley

A rift valley is a lowland region that forms where Earth's tectonic plates slowly pull apart. These deep scars in the landscape often feature steep sides, created by faulting and the sinking of land between parallel breaks. They are cradles of new crust, revealing the dynamic forces beneath our planet's surface.
