Serial Port

A serial port is a physical communication interface through which data is transferred one bit at a time. This allows for simple, robust Data Transfer over often long distances, distinct from interfaces that send multiple bits simultaneously. While largely supplanted by faster standards like USB in consumer devices, serial ports remain crucial for debugging, industrial control, and embedded systems.
