+Shu Han (221–263 AD) was one of the three major states that contended for control of China during the [Three Kingdoms](/wiki/three_kingdoms) period. Founded by [Liu Bei](/wiki/liu_bei), it claimed legitimacy as the true successor to the Han dynasty, centered in the western region of modern Sichuan.
