Splicing

Splicing is a precise molecular process where sections are cut from a nucleic acid or protein and the remaining fragments are rejoined. In cellular biology, this most often refers to RNA splicing, where non-coding introns are removed from pre-messenger RNA, leaving only the coding exons to form the mature RNA. This critical step ensures correct genetic information is translated.
