Strategic voting occurs when a voter casts a ballot for a candidate who is not their most preferred choice, but rather one they believe will lead to a more desirable overall Election outcome. This tactical choice, deeply rooted in Game Theory, often seeks to prevent a less-favored candidate from winning, or to support a viable contender over a preferred but unlikely victor.
