Stratovolcano

A stratovolcano, or composite volcano, is a tall, conical volcano built up by many layers of hardened lava, tephra, pumice, and volcanic ash. Characterized by steep slopes and periodic, often explosive eruptions, they are among Earth's most majestic and dangerous landforms.
