Ethiopic Languages

Ethiopic languages are a branch of the Semitic language family, itself part of the larger Afro-Asiatic phylum. Spoken predominantly in Ethiopia and Eritrea, they are known for their distinctive Ge'ez script. The ancient Ge'ez language is the liturgical ancestor to many modern Ethiopic tongues.
