Proto-Indo-European
Proto-Indo-European (PIE) is the hypothesized common ancestor of the Indo-European languages, a vast family spanning much of Europe and parts of Asia. Reconstructed through comparative linguistics, it offers a glimpse into a foundational linguistic root from which countless modern tongues blossomed.
