Surfactant

A surfactant is a compound that lowers the surface tension between two phases, like a liquid and a gas, or two immiscible liquids. These unique molecules stabilize mixtures, allowing liquids to spread more easily or form emulsions in myriad applications from cleaning products to biological systems.
